Step 1:
Homebuyer Class / Intake

The first step in the homebuying process is to come in to your local ACORN Housing office to meet with a Housing Counselor for a group intake session.

When you meet with your Counselor you will need to bring copies of documents pertaining to your income, assets, credit and budget. Please do not bring originals. The Counselors don't make copies.

Your Housing Counselor will order a credit report for you. This report costs $20. Please bring a check or money order. The Counselors will not accept cash. This is the only cost involved in the homebuying process.

Set an appointment set to see a loan counselor. You will be asked to complete the following forms:
